Microdermabrasion with Dr. Walter Erhardt in Albany, Georgia
Microdermabrasion is a refinishing technique that can dramatically improve the appearance of your skin. Wrinkles, fine lines, acne scarring, stretch marks and sun damage can all benefit from microdermabrasion.
If you’re looking for non-surgical skin rejuvenation, Dr. Erhardt can help. He would be happy to discuss the benefits of microdermabrasion with you during a one-on-one consultation at his plastic surgery practice.
Benefits of Microdermabrasion
- Microdermabrasion can be used to treat a wide range of undesirable skin conditions such as acne, sun damage and facial aging.
- In addition to facial rejuvenation, microdermabrasion can be used to treat areas of the chest or back.
- Microdermabrasion is a quick, minimally invasive procedure that does not require anesthesia.
Microdermabrasion can leave your skin looking vibrant, refreshed and polished. The best way to find out if microdermabrasion is right for you is to schedule a one-on-one consultation.
How Microdermabrasion Works
Your consultation: During your consultation, it's important to be honest and upfront about your medical history, cosmetic expectations and recovery goals. Your consultation will begin with a brief exam, followed by a discussion of microdermabrasion. You will also have the opportunity to view Dr. Erhardt's gallery of before and after patient photos.
Procedure: A typical microdermabrasion session can be performed in less than an hour with no downtime. Your face will be cleansed prior to treatment. Using a special wand, Dr. Erhardt will exfoliate the top layer of your skin. At the same time a mild suction will be present as the microdermabrasion system gently suctions dead skin cells away.
Healing time: There is no down time required following microdermabrasion. You should be able to return to work and social activity immediately afterwards. Your skin may have a slightly pink or red glow that will subside within a day or two. Your skin will also be sensitive for a few days, so it is important for you to wear sun block and avoid prolonged sun exposure.
Expected Results: Immediate improvements will be visible, but more than one treatment is usually necessary to maximize your results. In most cases, a course of 4-6 treatment sessions will be recommended. Follow-up sessions are usually spaced 1-2 weeks apart. Your final results will be long-lasting, but not permanent. Routine treatments will be needed to maintain your new look.
