Endoscopic Brow Lift with Dr. Walter Erhardt in Albany, Georgia
Endoscopic brow lift surgery is one of the latest advances in minimally invasive cosmetic surgery. The procedure has the same goal as a traditional brow lift – to minimize significant signs of aging that develop in the forehead region, but the endoscopic technique results in smaller incisions and minimal recovery time.
If you're ready to rejuvenate your look, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Walter Erhardt can help. Dr. Erhardt routinely performs endoscopic brow lift surgery with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as eyelid surgery or face lift surgery.
Benefits of Endoscopic Brow Lift Surgery
- Smaller incisions and less scarring than traditional brow lift surgery.
- Performed under local anesthesia and sedation rather than general anesthesia.
- Less swelling and minimal recovery time required.
- Easily performed alongside other facial rejuvenation procedures.
Endoscopic brow lift surgery is ideal for men and women who wish to reduce the appearance of deep frown lines and drooping brows. The best way to determine if you are an ideal candidate for surgery is to schedule a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Erhardt.
How Endoscopic Brow Lift Surgery Works
Your consultation: During your consultation, it's important to be honest and upfront about your medical history, cosmetic expectations and recovery goals. Your consultation will begin with a physical exam, followed by an in-depth discussion of endoscopic brow lift surgery. You will also have the opportunity to view Dr. Erhardt's gallery of before and after patient photos.
Surgery: Endoscopic brow surgery begins with 4-5 short scalp incisions, each less than an inch in length. Dr. Erhardt then inserts an endoscope (a small a camera with a light attached to it). Using another instrument inserted through a different incision, the forehead skin is gently lifted and the underlying muscles and tissues are removed or reshaped. The eyebrows may also be lifted and secured in a higher position by sutures beneath the skin's surface.
Healing time: Following surgery, it is common to experience some numbness, discomfort and swelling near the site of incisions. Dr. Erhardt may prescribe pain medication to alleviate significant discomfort. Sutures will be removed within one week and most are able to return to work and most normal activities at that time.
Expected Results: The results of your endoscopic brow lift will appear gradually as swelling begins to subside. The majority of bruising and swelling should be resolved within a few months, but it may take several more weeks before your forehead and brows naturally settle into place. Following a full recovery, you can anticipate a smoother, younger-looking appearance.
